Amber Bird, MEd., NCC, LPC, MHSP

Whole Soul Counseling

Ms. Bird is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Mental Health Service Provider Designation. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Behavioral Health from Tusculum University and a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University. She is accepting new clients for both face-to-face and telehealth therapy. Mission Statement

Providing counseling therapy to individuals, couples, and families in an inclusive, accepting, and supportive manner. Allowing client-led growth and healing; through culturally sensitive and trauma informed interventions.

Core Values

  • Integrity through ethical and professional service provision
  • Transparency and Authenticity in all interactions
  • Acceptance and unconditional-positive-regard toward all persons

Ms. Bird has experience in crisis stabilization (for psychosis and suicidality), in residential settings with both adult and adolescent clients, and substance dependence recovery services. She is well-versed in addressing interfamilial conflicts, generational trauma, and socioeconomic strains. Healing unresolved trauma opens doors to sustained change including incorporating new coping skills and mediating physical and emotional responses to trauma that interfere with daily life.

Ms. Bird is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Gottman Couple Therapy.

Ms. Bird is skilled in assisting clients in identifying their own goals and coaching them to gain self-awareness, to call on their own skills, strengths and values to achieve the changes they want to see in their lives.

Ms. Bird’s approach is based on the belief that each one of us have common experiences that allow us to create human connections. Through these connections we find healing and growth. Further, that we are born with the potential to meet all of our own needs and achieve success and efficacy through self-connection. This approach allows clients to improve interpersonal efficacy, heal and strengthen relationships, and better communicate their needs.

Kristina Villareal, LPC-MHSP

Kristina Villareal is a licensed clinical counselor in the state of Tennessee. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Human Services from National Louis University. After graduation, she wanted to try something new and relocated to North Georgia to attend Brenau University, where she completed her masters degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology, with a focus on “at-risk youth”. To further her career, she is currently enrolled in the Chicago School of Professional Psychology to study Forensic Psychology.

Kristina has been practicing therapy for almost 10 years. Throughout her career, she has worked in residential settings, foster care and school therapy. Although she has mostly worked with adolescents, she has conducted couples counseling and family therapy. A majority of the clients she has worked with have dual diagnosis of mental health and alcohol/drug related issues.

Kristina has experience working with individuals who have extensive trauma history which often leads to suicidality and psychosis, as well as understanding the strain it can put on the family unit. While working with individuals and/or families who have experienced these issues, it is important that every different aspect gets addressed, not just the presenting situation. While in therapy, understanding the individual as a whole is the best way to approach the healing process.

She is accepting new clients for both face-to-face and telehealth therapy. Kristina accepts cash paying clients from ages 10 and up, and sees individuals, couples, and families. Kristina also offers a generous, income-based sliding scale.
